Hannah Kidd

Hannah Kidd is a New Zealand artist who sculpts curiously delightful life size animals and characters from rods and steel. Hannah graduated from Otago Polytechnic School of Art in 2001 sculpting predominantly using steel rod and corrugated iron. She often drives over the steel with a Land Cruiser to prep it for her work.
Not only is it awesome to see the art but it is even better to note that much of her material is recycled. Make sure to have a look around her website (look for the laundry lady with the cheeky goat) and enjoy her growing body of work. You all know how much I love animals in any art form and here is another treasured artist to add to my growing list of inspirational artists. I am really looking forward to seeing more of this lady's work!

“I’m investigating people and the relationships they have with their surrounding environment. Animals continue to feature heavily in my work and are frequently used as a vehicle to discuss the human condition.”
